Knit in Chunks

I finely have figured out what to do with some of my Yorkshire Tweed Aran. I am going to attempt Miss Twiss's Knit in Chunks. It is her decoding of the Pringle of Scotland sweater in Vogue magazine. It will prove a nice and challenging venture. It might end up looking like a pregnancy sweater. I don't really care because I think that it is cute.

Wicked Knitting

I just finished the Wicked sample for Hilltop Yarn Shop. The pattern is available at Hilltop and it is really quick if you get to knit all day for a week. I made it out of All Seasons Cotton which is great to knit with and super soft. Come check it out at the shop.

Alpental Snowshoeing

M and I went up to Alpental for an afternoon of snowshoeing. We started out on a nice gentle slope then started heading straight up hill to a waterfall. How come it is always slower and scarier going uphill and when you turn around it takes 2 minutes to get off the steepest section? We were getting nervous about hiking straight uphill so turned around and carefully made our way down to the main trail. Once back on flatter ground, not much time had passed. It was a great end to a great weekend!

Seed Stich Scarf

I just finished a great seed stitch scarf for myself. It keeps me warm and cozy in my cold office. I made it out of 5 balls of Aurora 8. I was going to do the entire thing in ribbing but then decided that I liked the look of seed stitch. I also decided part way through the blue that there was no way that I could finish the thing in blocks of color so I ended up striping it. It matches my new polka dotted bag also.

Cool Hat!

M and I went snowshoeing the weekend before last. It was a beautiful, cold winter wonderland. We went up to Snoqualmie for the afternoon and enjoyed some hot chocolate and peppermint schnapps at our turn around point. Check out the cool hat on M!

Gingerbread Disaster!

Doesn't this look pretty! My gingerbread house collapsed under the weight of too much frosting. My brother in law called it war torn Kosovo. It could be the result of the twister to picked up Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. I guess that I won't be an engineer when I grow up!

Must Craft!

Crafting is a must in my family. I had to take some pictures of the projects in progress surrounding the living room. Socks, sleeves, scarves and sweaters. All the women in my family have some sort of crafty project to work on at all times. Needlepoint is okay too. Note the pillows on the couch!

Stars

I spent my holidays in Vermont with my family. I come from a crafty family so there are always projects to work on. My mother might be a little crazy or perhaps I am the crazy one. We have a new tradition of having two Christmas trees and one is dedicated to these little white stars. My mother had the brilliant idea to make hundreds of these stars for a simple white star and white light tree. The only problem was that she didn't understand how to make the stars so she gave the project to me. I must be crazy since I agreed to folder over a hundred stars for her tree. This year she convinced me to make some more for her tree since she will never had enough stars. They sure look pretty though.

His and Her Sweaters

I finished the his and her sweaters in time for Christmas. Actually I had them done well before Christmas but ended up giving them to my friends for New Year's. They were very surprised and happy to finally receive sweaters from me. It has taken me almost 9 years to finally knit them sweaters.
